Movies Screenings To Continue At Danbury Library

DANBURY — Danbury Library will continue its movie series in January with the “Reel Justice: Great Courtroom Dramas” series on Sunday, January 4, from 2 to 4:30 pm, with a screening of Stanley Kramer’s 1960 film Inherit the Wind about the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial. This series is coordinated by the library’s director and film buff Mark Hasskarl. The program includes lecture notes, discussion and refreshments.

The next film in the Independent Film Series will be shown on Sunday, January 11, from 2 to 4 pm, and will feature the Norwegian film Hawaii, Oslo. Five stories about love are interwoven in Oslo, during the hottest day of the year.

The film was honored with four Amanda Awards (Norwegian Oscars), including Best Film. Refreshments and a discussion, led by Andrea Wright Barrett, will follow the film.
