William       Coughlin, Jr

Devoted To Salvation Army

William Coughlin, Jr, 81, of South Windsor, died December 26. He was a loving and devoted husband to Marilyn (Lindberg) Coughlin for 59 years. Mr Coughlin was born and raised in Hartford.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Coughlin and his wife, Dawn, of Sandy Hook.

Mr Coughlin served as a Navy Medical Corpsman at the end of World War II. He attended Trinity College in Hartford and settled into a long career in the insurance business.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, his easy smile and sense of honesty were Mr Coughlin’s trademarks in business and in his personal life. Mr and Mrs Coughlin spent many years as devoted and tireless soldiers at the Manchester Salvation Army Citadel.

Funeral services were held December 31. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 3, at The Salvation Army in Manchester.
