Grade 5 Boys
Celtics 37, Bruins 25: Jack Procaccini scored 23 points and James Carney helped the Celtics to the win. George Salaris and Nick Samuelson worked hard on defense in the win. Andrew Svanda scored 8 points for the Bruins and Christian Thanasoulis led the way with several assists. Cole Terry and Kieran Lynch played hard underneath the basket on defense and pulled down key rebounds.
Huskies 28, Nighthawks 23 (OT): Huskies Point Guard James Accousti scored 11 points, 3 of them in overtime and got key feeds from Robert Katrinak. Geoff Santore and Mason Melillo were the difference makers on defense. Timmy LeBlanc scored 9 points for the Nighthawks in this tightly contested battle with Mike OâKeefe, David Anderson, and Charlie Fletcher providing support at both ends of the court.
Giants 35, Wolfpack 15: Nick Rohrbacher and Tim Vander Have each scored 8 points with Jackson Cryder, Andrew Drap and Kevin Chernoff assisting on offense. James Frazzetta led the Wolfpack with 8 points and Ryan Shaw contributed. Jimmy Craig and Sam Czel helped out on defense with timely steals and rebounds.
Raptors 36, Knicks 20: Dillon Polumbo led the Raptors with 8 points and Joey Duero helped spark the offense. Dylan Solano and Peter Winans kept busy on defense with 6 steals and 8 rebounds respectively. Bryan Kiley led the Knicks with 10 points. Gabriel Barrett and teammates Sam Duffy and Andrey Masser led the team on the defensive side of the ball.
Grade 5 Girls
Newtown 30, Weston 8: Katie Mossbarger, Lauren Wilcox and Haley Ryan combined for 24 points for Newtown. Maren Brady, Casey Harkins and Alana Murray dominated the boards and Lindsay Hoyt, Katie Laaksonen and Kelly Merrick played well defensively.
