Friends of Counted Embroidery-Laurel Chapter will have an exhibition of members’ works on view at C.H. Booth Library during the month of January.

Works by approximately a dozen members of the local chapter of FCE will be on view all month.

Founded in the early 1980s, the Friends of Counted Embroidery Laurel chapter has been meeting for more than 30 years, bringing newcomers, as well as keeping the longtime regulars.

The group meets the second Thursday of each month, from 10 am until 2 pm, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown. Meetings usually feature a guest speaker, a show and tell of individual work, lunch and coffee (BYO meal and mug, as well as stitching supplies). Snacks and coffee are supplied.

There are also occasional lectures, volunteer teachers and/or in-group lessons by members.

The exhibition will be on view January 2-31, and can be viewed any time the library is open: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 8 pm; Friday, 11 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.

For additional information call 203-426-0050.
