Computer Skills At Bethel Library

BETHEL — Bethel Public Library is offering a hands-on class, “Mysteries of the Mouse,” for anyone wanting to learn how to use the library of books, magazines, encyclopedia, and other databases. The class will meet Thursday, January 11, from 2 to 3 pm in the library’s reference room.

Register ahead in person or by phoning the library at 794-8756, as space is very limited. There is no prerequisite.

“Introduction to Word for Windows” will be taught in the Library’s Apple Blossom Room on Saturday, January 13, from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Participants will learn how to write a letter or a resume in Word, and also how to cut, paste, and set up a page for printing.

For this class, students should have at least rudimentary typing skills and be able to use a computer.

Call 794-8756 to register as space is very limited.

The public is also urged to call for the dates of upcoming Internet classes. The library’s staff is also interested in whether there is interest in classes on other computer programs or special topics on the Internet, and would like to hear from the public. Call Barbara van Achterberg at 794-8756.

All programs sponsored by the Bether Public Library are free, open to the public, and meet accessibility requirements for the disabled. Those needing special accommodations should contact the library as soon as possible to make arrangements.

Bethel library is at 189 Greenwood Avenue.
