Cartooning
Concentrating on a variety of areas relative to cartooning â such as character creating, storytelling, perspective â this class is perfect for beginners or intermediates and for those who have already taken this course. Bring a pad of paper (14x17), pencils, erasers, and straight edge ruler. Fee is $76 for eight classes. Open to ages 7 to 13. Starts Wednesday, January 17, 4 to 5 pm, in the Hawley School Art Room.
Girls Softball Pitching Lessons
Learn to pitch using the correct form to windmill or slingshot. Start learning in the winter and be ready to take the mound this spring. One-hour classes teach all the fundamentals. Bring your gloves. Fee is $95 for nine lessons. Starts Wednesday, January 10, 4 to 5 pm, at the Hawley School gym.
Little Recers
The popular preschool program includes creative dramatics, music, and group play. Fee is $100 for 10 weeks. Meets Thursdays, 9 to 11 am, at the Newtown Congregational Church House starting on January 18. Class size limited to 10. Children must be three years old as of December 31, 2000, and be toilet trained.
