Genealogy Club To Host US Census Team Members During Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Genealogy Club of Newtown will be on Wednesday, January 8, and while the meeting location will be in the usual place, the program itself will be a little different than most. There will be two presentations for those who attend.
First, two members of the US Census Team will be guest speakers. They will discuss past census information and history covered in past censuses and the differences in each succeeding one from the first (1790) and the last (1940) available to the public.
The second presentation will cover important employment opportunities available for the upcoming 2020 census.
The meeting/presentation will start at 7 pm, at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive as early as 6:45 in order to interact with others and with the evening’s speakers. Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be served.
Reservations are not required, but additional information is available from longtime Genealogy Club of Newtown member Bea Morgan, at 203-304-1861.
In addition to co-sponsoring the Genealogy Club’s monthly meetings, Booth Library has a collection of genealogy resources available on the third floor. The resources include a dedicated genealogy computer.
Ms Morgan is available for reference help on Monday afternoons between 2 and 4 pm, and by appointment. Assistance is also available from the library’s Reference Department.
