Gift giving arrived on Christmas Eve morning as Newtown Rotary Club President David Freedman presented a $500 check to Edmond Town Hall for its music series.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers was Chairman Jennifer Chaudhary and Operations Manager Sheila E. Torres.

Ms Chaudhary said that the Edmond Town Hall is grateful for the Newtown Rotary Club’s support, because it is people and organizations like them that make it possible for the historic building at 45 Main Street to continue to deliver live events for residents and the surrounding community to enjoy.

With movie showings no longer meeting the financial needs for the theater, Ms Chaudhary said the group is expanding its focus to also host live entertainment, of all genres; as well as being a venue to book space.

Mr Freedman said that while this was the first donation his group has made to Edmond Town Hall, it certainly will not be its last.

He recognizes that “the vibrancy of the community happens here” and he hopes the donation can help bring more people in, including support from other regional Rotary Clubs.

Upcoming Shows

The Edmond Town Hall is currently running its Newtown Savings Bank Music Series, which will have its final show, featuring the Stella Blue’s Band, on Saturday, February 1. The Stella Blue’s Band pays tribute to the Grateful Dead by giving attendees a musical experience reminiscent to the Grateful Dead’s live shows. Tickets are $30 and on sale now.

The next music series to take place at the Edmond Town Hall will focus on hometown acts. A Brothers Revival — featuring David “Rook” Goldflies (formerly of the Allman Brothers Band) and Mike Kach (a member of Dickey Betts & Great Southern) — will kick off the series on Saturday, March 28. Tickets for the show are $40 for orchestra and $30 for balcony.

According to The Edmond Town Hall website, “Tickets that include a Meet & Mingle event with the band will be $65 for orchestra seats and $55 for balcony seats. The Meet & Mingle begins at 6:45 pm in our Alexandria banquet hall and will be limited to the first 50 guests who buy Meet & Mingle tickets.”

The 2020 Hometown Music Series will also include an Eagles tribute band.

The Edmond Town Hall is still in need of sponsors for its upcoming music series. To become a sponsor, contact Ms Torres directly at manager@edmondtownhall.org or call 203-270-4285.
