Live Birds At Audubon Meeting

SOUTH BRITAIN — In addition to club members and the public, four or five of Connecticut’s largest birds will be attending the Lillinonah Audubon Society’s general meeting on Thursday, January 25. The meeting will begin with a social gathering at 7:30 pm, followed by the meeting and program at 8 pm.

The meeting will be in the parish house of South Britain Congregational Church, at the corner of Route 172 and East Flat Hill Road (next to South Britain General Store).

The program will consist of a live bird presentation, which will feature some of our largest birds (perhaps including an eagle, a raven, or a turkey vulture) and others. Hope Douglas of Wind Over Wings, a wildlife rehabilitation center, will talk about the birds and their habitats. She will also give the audience a chance to have a close encounter with the birds.

Wind Over Wings is a nonprofit organization dedicated to returning wildlife to nature and providing education on wildlife protection.

For additional information, call Mary K. Harmon at 264-4124.
