Enid Lazzari Doran

Devoted To Her Family

Enid Lazzari Doran of Bridgeport died December 30 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs Doran was born in Auburndale, N.Y.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles, of 62 years; and their five children, Deborah E. LaFlamme and her husband, Norman, of Newtown, Richard C. Doran and his wife, Maureen, of Northford, Beverly A. Doran of Huntington, Jacqueline C. Maglione and her husband, Michael, of Shelton, and Cynthia P. Held and her husband, Gregory, of Monroe. She was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, Kevin and Brian Doran, Patricia Robles, Kristen, Brett, and Gregory Olbrys, Scott Kofoed, Keri Edmunds, Jeffrey and Megan LaFlamme, and Brandon and Michael Held; and nine great-grandchildren. Her parents, Charles and Nora Lazzari of Flushing, N. Y.; and her sister, Lydia Doyle, predeceased her.

Mrs Doran was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who lived for the happiness and well-being of her family. Her family was her world. After raising her children, she returned to work as a patent secretary for Sperry Rand Corporation/Remington Shavers until her retirement. After retiring, she taught CCD classes for three years at St Charles Church in Bridgeport. She enjoyed singing, writing short stories, gardening, designing and sewing doll clothes, and giving piano lessons to her grandchildren. She also cared for her youngest grandchildren for more than ten years, whom she claims, “kept her young.”

Funeral services were held January 3 in the Pistey Funeral Home, Stratford, and in St Charles Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Michael’s Cemetery.

The family would prefer contributions in Mrs Doran’s memory to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton MA 01061-0515.
