False Report

About 10:43 pm December 31, police received a report that there was a loud New Year’s Eve party underway at a home on Mile Hill Road South, so they went to the area to investigate.

A 16-year-old boy who was attending that party then placed an Emergency 911 call to police and reported a nonexistent motor vehicle accident to them in seeking to divert police from the party, police said.

After investigating the situation, police arrested that boy on charges of second-degree falsely reporting an incident, interfering with police, and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

Police released the youth on a written promise to appear January 19 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court. Because the boy is under age 18, his identity is shielded by state law.
