 To Start At Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD — In addition to its Lost & Found Film Series and Director’s Cut Film Festival, Ridgefield Playhouse has added a new Family Film Series to its regular offerings.

The first program in the new series will feature The Derby Stallion, with a Q&A session following a screening on Sunday, January 28. The screening will begin at 2, and will be followed by a program with Tonja Walker, producer and actor. Additional members of the cast may also participate in the Q&A.

The Derby Stallion is a family film about a teenage boy who beats the odds to become a winning steeplechase jockey. The independent film stars teenage star Zac Efron (High School Musical, Summerland), Bill Cobbs (Demolition Man, Cotton Club), Ms Walker (“One Life To Live,” “General Hospital”), William R. Moses (Mystic Pizza, “Falcon Crest”) and Crystal Hunt (“Guiding Light”).

Family Film Series programs are hosted by Morton Dean and Ira Joe Fisher.

Tickets range from $7.50 to $15 and can be reserved by calling The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts box office at 203-438-5795 or visiting RidgefieldPlayhouse.org.
