Joseph Steven Hubina

Joseph Steven Hubina, 56, of Newtown, died at Danbury Hospital on December 30. He was born in Bridgeport, November 23, 1950, the son of Bernice M. (Barry) Hubina of Sandy Hook, and the late Steven S. Hubina.

In addition to his mother he is survived by two sisters, Janis Carnaroli of Middlebury and Ellen Hubina of Brookfield; two brothers John Hubina of Rhode Island and Paul Hubina of Newtown; his long time companion, Marilyn Mayer of Newtown; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School class of 1968.

He was employed by the Big Y supermarket of Newtown. He was a dedicated employee and was well liked by all who knew him. In his early working career he was employed in construction and retail sales.

A memorial service will be held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Route 133, Brookfield, on Saturday, January 6, at 11 am. There are no calling hours.
