It is with great sadness that the family of Scott Cross — husband, father, brother, friend — shares the news of his passing.

Born December 14, 1942, Scott passed on December 26, 2021, from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

Whether you were lucky enough to be family, friend, or someone who worked with him, you knew him to be funny, kind, strong, gentle, and fair. Scott was quiet but when he spoke, he usually had a hilarious or sweet take on things. Lifelong and new friends were all valued.

Scott appreciated simple things in life, always preferring to be home in Newtown rather than traveling. He loved mowing the lawn and blowing fresh snow off the driveway.

After 10 years managing the school bus program in Ridgefield, he retired and subbed as a driver for both Newtown and Ridgefield. The kids he drove provided him with great joy and endless humorous stories.

His wife June and his daughter Jodi will always be supported by the warmth of his memory and his limitless love. Scott asked for little and gave endlessly.

They choose to remember him riding off down the road, singing along to his Rolling Stones tapes.

A memorial gathering will be planned for the spring.

Scott Cross, as his family and friends will remember him.
