Kundalini Yoga, Meditation At New Milford Hospital

NEW MILFORD — If New Year’s resolutions include renewing and strengthening your spirit and health, New Milford Hospital can help individuals attain that goal. On January 11, Newtowner Leesa Sklover, PhD, LPC, IKYTA, begins kundalini yoga and meditation classes at New Milford Hospital.

Prenatal classes are also scheduled for moms and dads. These classes encompass all levels of yoga by incorporating modifications, and live music is part of each class

Community classes begin on Wednesday, January 11, from 5:15 to 6:15 pm, for all levels, and are located in the Robison Conference Rooms at New Milford Hospital. There is a fee of $15 for each class and no registration is required.

The prenatal classes is geared to prepare the mind and body for labor as well as honoring oneself and the parent/child bond through meditation, chant, music, and breathing techniques. Dads and new parents are welcome. The class is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 11, from 6:15 to 7:15 pm, in the Robison Conference Rooms at New Milford Hospital. There is a fee of $15 for each class and no registration is required.

Ms Sklover, a licensed counselor and kundalini yoga teacher, is a pioneer in integrative medicine. She trained with Gurmukh at Golden Bridge in New York and Los Angeles and provides music therapy, imagery, and visualization for the New Milford Hospital’s integrative medicine program.

In practice for more than 20 years, she has created workshops and lectures to encourage exuberance and resilience, including composing and performing original music and an off-Broadway musical.
