Stray Kats Returning With ‘The Bickersons’

Following an inaugural performance last month, The Stray Kats Theatre Company will return to the stage of The Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall on Friday, January 14, at 7:30 pm. The second offering by the not-for-profit, professional theatre company will be Philip Rapp’s The Bickersons, straight from the Golden Age of Radio.

Blanche and John Bickerson are enmeshed in the ultimate love-hate relationship.

“They fight, they yell, they squabble and squawk, but they love each other as much as any married couple in the world,” the playwright has said. They are prime examples of what makes marriage work: hardships.

Stray Kats is directed by Newtown resident Kate Katcher, an actor, writer and director. The cast of The Bickersons includes Ms Katcher, Jill Gureasko, Patrick Kearney and, just announced, Don Striano, all of Newtown; Tom Zingarelli of New Haven; and Chilton Ryan of Weston. All are appearing courtesy of Actors Equity Association.

The evening will include a talk-back with the company, and coffee and dessert by Andrea’s Pastry Shop. Tickets are $25, and are available at StrayKatsTheatreCompany.org or by calling 203-514-2221. Additional information is also available from Ms Katcher, info@StrayKatsTheatreCompany.org. Edmond Town Hall is at 45 Main Street in Newtown. The building is fully handicapped accessible, and there is plenty of free parking available.
