Helen Roman Pender, 84, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late Stephen Pender, died January 6 in Bethel Health Care Center. Mrs Pender, a retired employee of Vitramon, was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Catherine (Capik) and Alex Roman, and has been a lifelong area resident.

Her beloved daughters, Ellen Zenhye of Sandy Hook, Stephanie Parkinson, and her husband Bill, of New Hampshire, and Penny Dockry of California; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Pender.

Funeral services and interment in St John’s Cemetery, Stratford, are private, and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home of Stratford.
