Cooking Class Is Returning To The Library

Nancy Crevier will return to C.H. Booth Library in Newtown on Friday, January 19, to teach a new creative cooking class. This month’s class will offer participants “Winter Foods to Warm You Up.”

Ms Crevier’s cooking style is casual and relaxed, and she is full of interesting anecdotes from her days as a restaurant owner. She is also a great resource with ideas on where the best locations are for the best produce and crustiest French bread.

Ms Crevier encourages the use of fresh ingredients with seasonal herbs and spices in dishes that are simple to prepare yet presented with a touch of flair and originality.

The January 19 class will feature presentations on curried tomato and peas coupled with fresh paneer. She will also make a hearty family-style pasta fagioli, a one-pot meal that can be made ahead and reheated once everyone comes inside.

Ms Crevier will also make loaves of peppercorn and olive bread and, should time allow, she will share additional whole food favorites that are delicious and healthful and can be prepared with a minimum of effort.

The cooking class will be presented in the library’s lower meeting room from 11 am to 1 pm. Cost is $12, which is requested in advance.

The library is at 45 Main Street. Registration can be done in person or by calling 425-4533.
