Samuel Brier

Samuel Brier, 80, of Newtown, died January 9 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Mr Brier was born in Bridgeport, a son of the late Eli and Sarah Brier. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim, and was a charitable person, supporting many community organizations.

Mr Brier is survived by his brothers, Isidore Brier of Newtown, David Brier of Florida, and Abraham Brier of Danbury; and by his nephew and nieces, Glenn Brier of Sandy Hook, and Melody Gelb and Sharon Lichter, both of Florida.

Services took place Thursday, January 11, at Congregation Agudas Achim Cemetery on Reid Street in Fairfield.

 Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home of Fairfield handled arrangements.
