Mary Ellen (Milot) Grom, 50, formerly of Waterbury, died January 5 at her home. She was born March 26, 1965, in Waterbury, daughter of Donald E. Milot and the late Carmela (Ciminera) Milot.

In addition to her father, she leaves behind her sisters, Charlene Giacin, and her husband Richard, of Newtown and Janice Bickerstaff, and her husband Dennis, of Southbury; her son, Ryan Grom, and his dad, Kirk Grom, both of Milford; as well as four nephews.

She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, Class of 1983, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Post University in 1990. She worked in the health care insurance field for many years.

Ms Grom was devoted to her family, especially her son, who was her world. She had many friends whose lives she touched, and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed, as she was a caregiver to so many.

Calling hours will take place Wednesday, January 13, from 5 to 8 pm, at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, Waterbury. The funeral Mass will take place Thursday, January 14, at 10 am, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church.
