Museum Seeks Young Inventors To Design Games

WATERBURY — The Mattatuck Museum will host “Games People Play,” a hands-on activity for families and children to use prints from the museum’s art collection to create fun and imaginative games, on Saturday, February 10. The program will run from 10 am to noon.

As part of Mattatuck Museum’s Technology Project, new computers featuring custom interactive games will be installed in the Painting Galleries this year. The museum needs help from the public in designing games the old-fashioned way: with paper, scissors, art supplies and imagination. There will be plenty of arts and crafts materials to create fun hands-on games with art.

Participants will use prints from the museum’s art collection to make puzzles, a search quiz, mix ‘n match, mazes and more. Families and children ages 8 through 12 are invited to the free program. Light refreshments will be available. Pre-registration is required.

For further information and to register, call the museum at 203/753-0381, extension 10. The Mattatuck Museum is at 144 West Main Street in downtown Waterbury.
