Gertrude Nagy

Gertrude Nagy, 90, an 11-year resident in Georgia, and formerly of Newtown, died December 17, after a short illness. She was the widow of the late Alexander F. Nagy. She was born in Dresden, Germany, May 9, 1925.

Mrs Nagy was very active. She loved to host and play bridge and board games, exercised, loved music, and headed various committees in the community in which she lived. She embraced new friends with enthusiasm, and the love for family was her passion.

She leaves her daughters and spouses, Margitta and Larry Savo, Marianne and Frank Catenaccio, Dorottya and Ronald Kern, Angela and Steven Lee, and Kathleen Reilly; her grandchildren, Christian Perrotta, Allyson Etzell, Suzanne Parker, Kimberly Zarillo, Brian Kern, Heather Kern, Justin Lee, Nicole Lee, and Andrea Mangano; ten great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren, all who know her as “Omi,” which means “grandmother,” in German.  Her son-in-law, Francis Reilly, predeceased Mrs Nagy.

A memorial service took place December 28, in Georgia. Family and friends came together to celebrate her life. She will be tremendously missed by her beloved family and friends.
