Chamber Music By Area Players

DANBURY — Danbury Music Centre will host a performance of chamber music by The Chamber Players from Danbury Symphony Orchestra.

The concert will take place on Sunday, February 4, at 3 pm, in the Marian Anderson Recital Hall at Danbury Music Center, 256 Main Street. There is no admission charge.

The Chamber Players will perform Beethoven’s Septet, Opus 20 in E Major for Strings and Winds and follow that with P.D.Q. Bach’s Schleptet in E Major for Strings and Winds. The second work is an amusing parody of the Beethoven Septet. P.D.Q Bach (1807-1742?) was the youngest brother of the famous J.S. Bach and was a failure in everything. His music was discovered and edited by Professor Peter Schickele.

In addition to the Septet and Schleptet, Danbury residents Eliott Isaacson (viola) and Steve Isaacson (piano) will perform Sonata for Viola and Piano, Opus 11, No. 4 by Paul Hindemith.

Along with the Isaccsons, performers in the concert will include Katherine DiPierro Isles, flute, from Sandy Hook; Theresa Dolak, clarinet, from New Fairfield; David Woolsey, oboe, from Mahopac; Robert Lewis, bassoon, from North Salem; Nancy and Walter Sudik, horn and bass, from Bethel; Burton Peretti, violin, from Brookfield; and Ethan Winer, cello, from New Milford.
