Beekeepers Meet      Jan 23

WESTON — The Back Yard Beekeepers’ Association is hosting a presentation by Dr James Armine on Tuesday, January 23, at 7:30 pm in the Community Room of Norfield Church in Weston.

Dr Armine, a professor at West Virginia University, has researched the benefits of essential oils, including wintergreen, as a device to control varroa mites that kill honeybees. He will be talking about the results of his research and bringing examples of his equipment to the presentation. The presentation is open to the public.

Prior to the presentation, there will be a meeting at 6:30 pm in the Green Room of the church open to BYBA members and would-be members covering basics of beekeeping.
