Michael J.     Sikeritzky

Michael J. Sikeritzky died at home on January 13, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was the cherished husband of Patricia (Gilroy) Sikeritzky of Demerest Drive, Orange.

He was the son of John and Lorraine (Kuchinsky) Sikeritzky of Orange. He was the brother of Ginny Wolcott of Sandy Hook, and Nancy Piner of Milford. He was also the special nephew of George and Anne Marie Kuchinsky. He was the brother-in-law of Joan Kalil, James Piner, Jeffery Wolcott, Gary Gilroy, and Jerome Gilroy, and the uncle of Christopher Wolcott, Kelly Piner, Meghan Nicholas, Mike Kalil, Kevin Gilroy, Michael Gilroy, Sean Gilroy, and Erin Trammell.

Mr Sikeritzky was a 1969 graduate of Amity High School. He attended Miami University of Ohio, and graduated in 1974 with a degree in architecture. He spent a year abroad studying architecture in London. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Indian Neck Yacht Club, and the Connecticut Telso Golf League. He was employed by SNET.

The funeral was from the Lupinski Funeral Home, 821 State Street, New Haven, on January 17, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Infant Church, Racebrook Road, Orange. Burial followed in Orange Center Cemetery.

Mr Sikeritzky’s family and his many devoted friends and neighbors will miss his wit, intellectual curiosity, insight, and his generosity of spirit. He was a man like no other.

Memorials in Mr Sikeritzky’s memory may be as simple as doing a kind deed for a stranger. Donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice Home Care, 680 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484, or the Hospital of St Raphael, Father Michael McGivney Cancer Center, 1450 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
