Cathleen Byrne of Newtown was among 294 students at Centenary College of Louisiana named to the 2000 fall semester dean’s list.

Amanda L. Cruz, a member of the class of 2004, has been named to the dean’s list for the first semester at Saint Anselm College. To be eligible for this honor, a student must compile a grade point average of 3.0 or better. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip J. Cruz of Newtown. Miss Cruz is an undeclared major.

Kara Henry, the daughter of Madalyn and Robert Henry of Sandy Hook, has been named to the fall 2000 semester dean’s list at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Miss Henry is majoring in history and art. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi where she holds the office of philanthropy chair.

Emily Marron, a resident of Newtown and a member of the class of 2002 at Providence College, has been inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. Miss Marron is majoring in Elementary / Special Education at the college.

Katrine P. Rundlof, daughter of Ginger Rundlof of Sandy Hook and Christer Rundlof of Newtown, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. A graduate of Newtown’s class of 2000, Miss Rundlof is the recipient of the Westminster Scholarship, a gift of $2,700 for each academic year.

Megan B. Szarek

Mr and Mrs Stanley A. Szarek, Jr of Sandy Hook are pleased to announce their daughter, Megan B. Szarek, has been awarded the CCIM/CIREI Education Foundation University Scholarship, the BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) Scholarship, as well as the Byrin Boyce Valuation Scholarship.

Miss Szarek will graduate in the spring of 2001 from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, with a bachelor of science degree in real estate and urban economics.
