Esther Csonka

Esther (Russi) Csonka, 72, of Trumbull, died January 15 at Bridgeport Hospital.

She was the aunt of Dennis Ceccarelli of Newtown.

She was a retired employee of the Owen Brockway Company. Born in Bridgeport on June 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Nazzario and Lucia (DiNello) Russi, and the widow of Ernest Csonka. She was a lifelong member of the Brooklawn Seventh Day Adventist Church, head deaconess for many years, and a pillar of the church. She was on the hospitality committee and several other committees as well as very generous and caring to all who needed her.

Survivors also include her beloved family, one brother, Dominick Russi of Bridgeport; one sister, Angela Ceccarelli of Trumbull; several other beloved nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and six great-nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Migliore; and two brothers, Michael and Leonard Russi.

Services were held on January 18 in the Brooklawn Seventh Day Adventist Church, 250 Brooklawn Avenue, Bridgeport, with Robert Hancock, pastor, officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport.
