*While Acoustic Café in Bridgeport prides itself for presenting new music and new talent in a small venue, the January 26 show is going to be a little different. Next Friday night the headliners will be PROFESSOR LOUIE & THE CROMATIX. This is the bluesy, soulful, country band that years ago opened for the legendary THE BAND, as well as with RICK DANKO, so I imagine Rich F. must be pretty excited to be getting these guys into his club. Showtime is 9 pm and the cover is just $8.
*LUCINDA returns to Bank Street Coffee House next month. The singer-songwriter also has a pair of appearances in New York City this month, but it might be easier to congratulate her for those â both of which are at the Songwriterâs Hall of Fame/National Academy of Popular Music â at the New Milford show. The Bank Street event will be on Saturday, February 3, and should start around 8 pm.
Also exciting for the former Newtown resident will be her appearance at Februaryâs CT Songwriterâs Association Showcase on February 21 at Acoustic Café in Bridgeport. Showtime that evening is also 8 pm.
*Pollstar has announced in its concert listings that BRYAN ADAMS will be in Connecticut on March 28 at The Warner Theatre in Torrington. (The listing service actually calls the venue Torrington Theatre, but its contact numbers all poinit to The Warner.) The problem is, the official Bryan Adams site, www.bryanadams.com, puts the appearance as March 30, and the theatre itself isnât even listing the show yet⦠even though tickets were to have gone on sale January 13. If you are interested, contact the Warnerâs box office at 860/489-7180 or send email to warner@cttel.net.
Until next week, Iâll be seeing you... on the road.
Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks, c/o Bee Publishing Co., 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown 06470, or shannon@thebee.com. Include a phone number for confirmation, please. If you donât have a stamp or a piece of paper or a writing utensil that works, give me a call! The phone number at the office is 426-3141. Shows listed on the calendar at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
