Hawleyville Post Office Postmaster/Transfer Coordinator Mark Favale is retiring on January 21 after working 43 years for the United States Postal Service (USPS), 23 of which were in Hawleyville.

Favale was instrumental in saving Hawleyville Post Office when it closed at 30 Hawleyville Road and later reopened at 23 Barnabas Road.

Favale told The Newtown Bee on January 7, “It has been my privilege and honor to serve the community for the past 23 years. Leading the Hawleyville Post Office and serving the greater community has been a most rewarding experience.”

Those who wish to send their farewell sentiments and well wishes to Favale are invited to write a Letter to the Editor.
