Efforts For A National Park At Sierra Club

On Thursday, February 1, at 7:30 pm, Kristen DeVore from Restore will present a picture of the citizens’ efforts in Maine to preserve their wilderness by crating a new national park. The program will be the main event of the February meeting of the Housatonic Valley Group of the Sierra Club.

The Maine Woods National Park would encompass the thousands of acres of privately owned forest that may be felled by the developers bulldozers.

Pizza will be served, and there is no charge to attend.

The meeting will be held at Newtown Congregational Church House at 7:30 pm. For information, call 723-7208.
