Guest conductor James Sadewhite will lead the evening with Wagner’s Overture to Tannhauser.

Soloists Theresa Santiago, lyric soprano, and Richard Clement, tenor, will sing arias by Puccini and Donizetti, followed, after intermission, by music from such Broadway favorites as My Fair Lady, The Toast of New Orleans and West Side Story.

Maestro James Sadewhite began his conducting career in 1963, when, at the age of  15, he conducted the Westchester County Youth Orchestra in White Plains, N.Y. A graduate of  the State University at Potsdam, N.Y., he holds two masters degrees from Columbia University, with a major in conducting.

Mr Sadewhite is currently conductor and music director of Summit Symphony, Summit, N.J.; Yonkers Philharmonic, Yonkers, N.Y.; and State Repertory Opera, South Orange, N.J.  With a working repertoire of  some 700 orchestral works and 25 operas, he has received critical acclaim for performances throughout the tri-state area. In 1989 he traveled to Taiwan, where he was guest conductor of several Chinese orchestras.
