Rotary Members Received An Important

Reminder About Long-Term Care

Rob Charnas and Wendy McMurty of Genworth Financial set members of Newtown Rotary to thinking about their future, and whether they have really made provisions for the day they can no longer fully care for themselves, when Rotary Club of Newtown held its first meeting of the new year earlier this month.

Long-term care is a subject many do not wish to think about, either because they want to put off the day when age actually catches up with them and there will be the need to rely on others, or if the need make provisions is acknowledged, many think it is too expensive.

As people live longer, long-term care is something that should be considered early, Ms McMurty and Mr Charnas reminded Rotarians. As one ages, the choices and expenses only run higher, they pointed out. They emphasize the need on families to discuss a plan with knowable people, and to do so early in their lives.

Newtown Rotary now meets at The Inn at Newtown at 6:15 every Monday for a evening supper meeting. Newcomers are always welcome.
