Keep Those Hydrants Clear!

The town’s fire marshal’s office is seeking residents’ cooperation in keeping fire hydrants clear in light of recent snowfall.

The town’s volunteer fire companies ask that residents and businesses clear snow away from both conventional fire hydrants, which are charged with water, and dry hydrants, which are vertical pipes near bodies of water that are used for firefighting.

Also, businesses must clear snow away from their second exits or stair exits, according to the fire marshal.
