Fish Fries Returning For Lenten Season

St Rose’s Annual Friday Knight Fish Fry, a popular event that has grown exponentially each year since its introduction in 2005, will return this month.

The Knights of Columbus event will be offered on the first, fourth, and fifth Fridays of Lent — February 8, February 29, and March 7 — in the St Rose of Lima Hall, 46 Church Hill Road, from 5 to 8 pm. All are invited.

The menu will include Yankee fried fish, close slaw, fries, and soft drinks. Guests will be able to dine in or take their orders home.

The cost of the dinner will be $10. Children’s portions (one piece of fish) will be available for $5, and kids will also be able to substitute macaroni and cheese for their fish. There is also a maximum charge of $30 for families (eat-in only).

Proceeds from the fish fries will go to support the many charitable causes of the Knights of Columbus. The men’s organization participates in the AmeriCares program to rehabilitate housing for the elderly and needy. It also sponsors local food and furniture drives to help a number of shelters in the area, and co-sponsors holiday dinners for the community.

The chairmen of this year’s dinners are John Barry, Ron Kopcik and Brian Liotta. For additional information contact Mr Liotta at 270-3314 or BDLiotta@yahoo.com.
