Robert Mulcahy

Former Newtown Resident

Robert D. Mulcahy, 62, of Apex, N.C., died January 20. He was a former resident of Newtown, and had lived in Southbury and Niantic before moving to Apex. He was born September 30, 1945, in New York City, son of Jeremiah and Joan (Crispe) Mulcahy. A Navy veteran stationed in the mid-Atlantic, he was later employed as a financial analyst for IBM, retiring after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his son Joseph Mulcahy and wife, Nicole, of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter Eileen Hains and husband, Scott, of Cary, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Caillah, Ryan, and Benjamin Hains. Mr Mulcahy was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn F. Mulcahy.

A memorial service was held January 27 at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, Niantic.
