The Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown is having Tovah Martin present a program titled “The Unexpected Houseplant” at 7 pm at Newtown Senior Center on Wednesday, February 12.

Ms Martin is the author of many gardening books and is a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in many publications throughout the country.  She has also appeared on various television shows including Martha Stewart’s.

In her presentation, Ms Martin will discuss houseplants with panache and plants that are usually not associated with windowsills such as heuchera and primroses.

“We will talk about how to bust houseplants out of their plastic pots and into a swank future,” she promises.

The public is welcome to enjoy what sounds like an entertaining evening to help plant enthusiasts survive Mother Nature’s challenging winter.

The senior center is at 14 Riverside Road, within the multi-purpose building.

For additional information or in the event of inclement weather the night of the program, call 203-426-5418.

Tovah Martin will talk about how to bust houseplants out of their plastic pots and into a swank future when she offers a program in Sandy Hook on February 12.
