Jay Fillmore Patrick passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the age of 74.

His wife Connie, of 30 years, was by his side along with his daughter, Sara Strait of New Milford, Conn.; his son, Mike Patrick of Watertown, Mass.; and his sister, De Feldman of Bristol, R.I. He is survived by three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jay was born March 14, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After a short stay in Indiana, the family moved to Barrington, R.I.

After he graduated high school, Jay joined the Air Force in 1966 until 1970. He then settled in Danbury, Conn., where he worked for the Danbury News-Times newspaper.

In his social circle, a person said to him, come with me and I will teach you how to search land titles. After a few years he went to work for Chicago Title Co in Danbury. Shortly after, he started his own company Heritage Title Co Real Estate Title Examiner. Jay searched land titles all over the state of Connecticut.

In addition to being a successful businessman, he was a marksman and a drive master. He could ride his Harley with the best of them.

After retirement, he just wanted to travel locally here in Connecticut.

He loved being home with his two dogs: Bogart, a Jack Russell, and Zeva, a yellow lab. Bogart was born on his birthday and was better known as “Daddy’s Dog.”
