Daquan Hester poured in 52 points, adding six three-pointers, as My Place Pizza defeated Svanda Painting, 85-75, in Men’s Basketball League action at The Gym at Newtown.

Hester popped in 27 points in the first half and 25 more in the second half to lead My Place. Bob Rogers Sr and Bob Rogers Jr tossed in 12 points apiece. For Svanda, Mark Svanda canned 32 points while Todd Suhar canned 14 points and Jerry Reidy added 13 more.

Joe McCluskey scored 23 points and Grant Putnam added 17 more to lead LSC to a 74-55 win over Southbury Printing. Ken Oswald dropped in 11 points while Liam O’Keefe added nine and Matt Gallagher and Tim Gorman chipped in seven points apiece. For Southbury, Mike Kish canned 20 points, Bryan Atherton added 13, and Justin Phillips tossed in 11.

Three different players scored better than 20 points as Newtown Phone Books pounded Garage Door, 93-74. Steve Bigham (25), Dave Samoskevich (22) and Pat Sullivan (20) led the offense while Steve Hordas tossed in 17. For Garage Door, Tony Willie canned 19 points while Joe Brown added 18.

D’Amico Painting defeated Pantan Landscaping, 75-54, as Steve D’Amico dropped in 21 points and Jeff LaFlamme added 20., Tim Sullivan canned 15 points, as well. For Pantan, Torrence Lamb and Dave Rood popped in 18 points apiece while J. Nathanson and Rich Engel combined for 16 more.

Women’s Basketball

Denise Passano popped in 14 points to lead Colorgraphics past Newtown Mobil, 36-32, in Women’s Basketball League action at The Gym at Newtown.

Alex Heron added eight points and six rebounds for Colorgraphics as Rachael McGrath chipped in six points, four assists and four rebounds. Maura Keenan who pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds and dropped in five points. For Newtown Mobil, Amy Proulx had 14 points as Sandy Doski dropped in eight points and pulled down four rebounds. Karen Katrinak and Kelly Pinkney combined for 12 points, with Pinkney also grabbed four boards and Katrinak recording four blocks and 10 rebounds.

The Gym at Newtown pulled out a 54-51 win over Walsh Logging behind 21 points from Jaime Murphy. Murphy also pulled down six rebounds and had a block and a steal. Carolyn Signorelli added 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds as Mel Darrah and Janet Duffey combined for 12 points and seven rebounds. Jen Thomas chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds. Tracy Paella had a great game for Walsh Logging, scoring 26 points and pulling down six rebounds. Joanne Duncanson chipped in with 12 points and 14 rebounds as Jen Z. added nine points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.

Kim Lowell scored 17 points as Jody Rajcula and Holly Ferguson combined for 24 points and 19 rebounds to lead Dr Gellert past Alpine Realty, 59-37. Stephanie Trolle chipped in eight points while Laura Cook and Jen Timpanelli combined for 10 points and six rebounds. For Alpine Realty, Tori Anderton poured in 22 points with seven rebounds and two steals while Kelly Fengler added 15 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
