‘The World’s Funniest Musical,’ A-Men

BRIDGEPORT — When the original Nunsense, winner of the Outer Critics Circle award for Best Musical, returned to New York with an all-male cast (Mrs Doubtfire meets the Little Sisters of Hoboken), The New York Times raved: “Holy order, the Sisters are Brothers! Is it fun? Definitely yes!  The all-male cast is a genuine blessing.”

Now, on February 3, Nunsense A-Men! will open at Downtown Cabaret for a limited six-week run as part of Campaign Cabaret.  Featuring the critically acclaimed David Titus, New York’s original Mother Superior, along with other New York cast members, the show will offer one of the most hilarious evenings many people will spend in the theater.

From the opening number “Nunsense is Habit-Forming” to the rousing finale “Holier Than Thou,” this hand-clapping, foot-stomping, belly-laughing show is filled with zany humor, audience participation, and an anything-goes sense of fun.

Directed by Nunsense creator Dan Goggin, and conducted by original musical director Leo Carusone, this show is just what the doctor ordered in these difficult times. For anyone who needs a break from the trials and tribulations of life, Nunsense A-Men! will have audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter.

Produced by Scott M. Robbins and Nunrun Productions in association with Campaign Cabaret, performances will be presented February 3 until March 12 on Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 5:30 and 8:30, and Sundays at 5:30.

Tickets range from $10 to $30. Discounts are offered for senior citizens (ages 62 plus), for 5:30 shows; group and student discounts are available.

For tickets, directions and other information call the theater at 203-576-1636.
