Charles W.      Strobel, Sr

Charles W. Strobel Sr, 77, of Easton, died on January 27 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the husband of Catherine Turney Strobel.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his mother, Rebecca Oberg of Newtown; son, Charles W. Strobel II of the Huntington section of Shelton; sisters, Jeanne Granniss and Geraldine Cornell, both of Virginia; a brother, Richard Oberg of Brookfield; a granddaughter, Melissa; a great-granddaughter, Mikayla Rae; and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Bridgeport, he had been an Easton resident for more than 50 years. Mr Strobel was a US Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He was employed in the automotive industry for 50 years.

Funeral services were held on January 29 in Notre Dame of Easton Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors was in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
