Frances Ford

Shared Her Joie De Vivre With All

Frances “Fran” Ford, of Heritage Village, Southbury, died January 22. She was born August 23, 1931, in Oneonta, N.Y., to Grace Gilbert Fatta and Frank Fatta.

She was the director of Dance and Drama Prep School in New York City, with work in Summer Stock as well as the American Theater Wing, New York, and a founding member of the Southbury Arts Council. She served as theatrical manager/agent, producing Off-Broadway as well as Southbury Playhouse productions during her career.

In addition to her work in the arts, Ms Ford was owner of the Fran Ford Realty firm for 35 years in Woodbury. She raised show dogs for competition, and served for 25 years on regional governmental boards, while serving with numerous community service boards in Woodbury, as well as the first director of activities at Heritage Village in Southbury.

Ms Ford is survived by her life partner, Santina Licata; surrogate sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Vincent Costa; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her friend in fun and business, Maureen Morrill Jones.

A memorial service will be held at St Paul’s Church, 294 Main Street South, Woodbury, Saturday, March 5, at 11 am. No flowers, please.
