Joe Pieretti

Pieretti is a 145-pound division grappler on the Newtown High wrestling team.

Favorite part about wrestling: “The thrill of being in a one-on-one sport.”

Toughest aspect: “I get the butterflies going out there no matter who I’m wrestling. But I love it. It’s a love-hate relationship.”

When he’s not on the mats: High-jumps and runs the 1,000 meter dash during the spring track season.

Favorite subject: Science.

Favorite athletes: Larry Bird and Mike Tyson.

Food of choice: Chicken parmesan.
