Youth Wrestlers Place Third In Championships

Newtown Youth Wrestling Association won third-place honors in both the Elementary and Middle School Conference Championships over the January 29-30 weekend. The Elementary Championships were held at Danbury’s Police Activities League building on January 29. Sean Arnold, Shaine Luzetti, Michael Carpenter, and William Henckel placed first. Gren Paynter, Luca Manfredi, and Sean Gordon placed second. Luke Wellman, Evan Rooney, and Simon Preston placed third. The Middle School Championships were held at Ridgefield High School the next day. James Leuci, Joseph Praino, Anthony Falbo, Luca Crudo, and Matt Gonzalez placed first. Forrest Speed, Thomas Leuci, and Ed Lovely placed second. Erik Benson, Ed Lajoie, and Joey Accousti placed third.
