Healing Hearts Hosting Grief Workshop

DANBURY — Valentine’s Day can be a particularly difficult time for someone who has lost a loved one. The sadness and loss felt when you lose your life partner can be magnified at this time of year. To help those who may feel overwhelmed by this holiday, The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families will offer “Grief During Valentine’s Day” on February 11, from 6 to 7 pm, at 73 Stadley Rough Road.

This workshop will help participants focus on the happiness they shared with their loved ones while coping with the normal sadness of loss.

The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families is a program of Regional Hospice. The agency’s Caring Continuum — CARES at Home, Hospice, and Healing Hearts — provides care, comfort, and compassion for those touched by life-limiting illness and loss. Regional Hospice serves Newtown, offering patients and families help with any stage of end-of-life care.

Regional Hospice is an affiliate of Danbury Health Systems.

The workshop will be facilitated by Jenny Casey, MSW. She is a lead facilitator for The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families. She has a master’s in social work from Southern Connecticut State University and has extensive experience with grief and loss.

The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families, a program of Regional Hospice, offers numerous support groups, workshops and programs to the public free of cost throughout the year.
