‘Take The Challenge: Trash Talk’ Presentation Planned On Waste Crisis In Connecticut
Connecticut is experiencing a waste crisis. More waste is generated than there is capacity to manage.
What happens to all that waste? Where does it go?
Managing waste and knowing what to recycle can be confusing.
The Town of Newtown will host “Take The Challenge: Trash Talk” on Tuesday, February 27, from 6:30 to 8 pm, at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street.
Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority Executive Director Jennifer Heaton-Jones will offer a one-hour presentation, followed by a 30-minute Q&A.
HRRA is the regional governmental solid waste and recycling authority.
The family friendly event will cover where local garbage and recycling goes, the State of Connecticut’s universal recycling guide, what happens when the wrong thing is put into a recycling bin, how waste and recycling impacts the environment, and how reducing waste and separating food scraps can save readers money.
Registration is not required. Contact HRRA for additional information at email@example.com or 203-775-4539.
