SOUTHBURY â Award winning poet and author Polly Brody will be featured at the February meeting of Heritage Village Womenâs Club on Thursday, February 14. Ms Brody will read selections from her third publication, At the Flowerâs Lip, poems depicting âthe anguish and exquisite joy of late-life love.â
A former Newtown resident, Polly Brody lives in Heritage Village. She received her BA degree from Mt Holyoke College and a masterâs from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a biologist and experienced field ornithologist, she lectures on animal behavior, and has been an active advocate for the environment. She has traveled extensively in Europe, East Africa, Australia and South America.
She is the author of two earlier collections: Other Nations (poetry) and The Burning Bush (essays with poetry). She has been published in many literary journals and has received numerous awards for her writing.

The program will begin at 2 pm in Sarah Cooke Hall, on Hill House Road, with refreshments following the program in the Fireside. Non-members are invited and there is a suggested donation of $5.
