PARENTING IN THE TEEN ZONE, for parents of middle and high school students, continues February 15 and 22. The program begins at 7 pm. Perfect for parents trying to understand the ups and downs, ins and outs, and doâs and donâts of parenting a teen or almost teen. This is a five-week session and the fee is $25 per person or $35 per couple, which includes all materials.

POSITIVE PARENTING FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS is a new course for parents. This course runs Mondays, 9 am. Dates are February 26, March 5, 19, April 2, 23, 30, May 14, and June 4. The fee is $25 per person or $35 per couple. This includes all materials and applies for the whole year, as this is an ongoing program. All are welcome at any time.
It is necessary to register for all parenting courses.
POPULAR EVENT RETURNS
Newtown Youth Services once again sponsors its Dinner Dance and Auction on Saturday, March 17, 7 pm at the Fireside Inn. This fun fundraising event features fabulous professional âimpersonators,â great food, plenty of dancing, amazing auctionables, and door prizes. Tickets are $35 per person. For info, please call NYS.
AFTER SCHOOLÂ _PROGRAMS FORÂ MIDDLE SCHOOLERS:
After school programs will resume after Winter Break.
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER TâAI CHI CHâUAN EVENING
February 27, from 7 to 8 pm. Exercises will be chosen from a number of traditional Tâai Chi and Kung Fu training systems. They will be simple and interesting to practice. No prior training required. This is a free program.
4-H: Wednesdays, 4-5:30 pm. Harvest your own flowers and vegetables in a garden plot you design yourself! Help us build a Butterfly Plant Nursery, a Childrenâs Theme Garden, and a Chicken and Rabbit Garden. Plant a row for the hungry in our garden and bring your pet to our pet show. We meet at NYS, so come and join us.
You must call Newtown Youth Services, 270-4335, to sign up for all programs. This is for grades, 6, 7, and 8.
YOUTH GROUP MEETINGS
THE HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD (HS YAB) will meet on Monday, February 26, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD (MS YAB)Â will meet after Winter Break.
NYCAAP will meet on Tuesday, February 27. Meeting time is 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
