Amy L. Johnson

Amy L. Johnson, 21, of Elm Street, Saugerties, N.Y., died February 8 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on the New York State Thruway in New Paltz, N.Y.

Besides her parents, also of Saugerties, N.Y., survivors include one sister, Natalie A. Johnson of Charlottesville, Va., and one brother, Ryan D. Johnson of Saugerties, N.Y.; her paternal grandparents, David and Marie Johnson of Newtown, her uncles, Allan and Steve Johnson both of Newtown, her aunt Su Johnson of Newtown, and cousins Ian and Jessie Johnson both of Newtown; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Michael and Catherine Herman.

Born February 14, 1982, in Phoenix, Ariz., she was the daughter of Bradley W. and Kathleen Herman Johnson. A Saugerties resident since 1993, she previously resided in Wolcott.

Ms Johnson was currently employed at Sitour USA in Kingston, N.Y. She was a graduate of Saugerties High School, Class of 2000, where she was an active member of the Key Club and the Spanish Club. Active athletically, she was named a Freeman All Star in Softball in 2000 and made the All MHAL First Team, which won the League Championship in 2000. She played on the Saugerties High School Varsity Volleyball Team and was named a Kingston Freeman Volleyball All Star. She later attended Ulster County Community College where she captained the College Volleyball Team and played centerfield for the UCCC Softball Team. She played summer softball for the Ulster Fillies, the Hudson Valley Renegades, and the BATS.

Amy touched many lives. Her dazzling smile and pretty green eyes will be remembered by all who crossed her path. Her zest for life was unmatched.

Her funeral procession is scheduled to form at 11 am on Friday, February 13, at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc, corner of John and Lafayette streets, Saugerties, thence to St Mary of the Snow RC Church, where at noon a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by the Rev Hugh R. Grace, pastor.
