Elizabeth Reeve Moody

Elizabeth Reeve Moody, a centenarian, passed away peacefully on January 26 in Dunwoody, Ga.

She was predeceased by her husband Otto Bushnell Moody, son Buck Moody, and daughter Anne Moody Ingersoll. She is survived by her granddaughter, Lorraine (Moody) Chilson of Newtown, and by her daughter Jacqueline Ahern; 11 other grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and five great- great-grandchildren.

Muggie, as she was known to her many friends and family, was born in Brookhaven, Long Island, N.Y., on June 23, 1903. She and Otto resided in Westfield for many years before moving to Old Saybrook, where she lived for approximately 35 years. Muggie was a Daughter of the American Revolution. She had a lifelong interest in genealogy and loved to tend her garden. Muggie was a longtime member of the Old Saybrook Congregational Church.

Muggie was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed by the many people she touched. Her life was celebrated on February 4 at Swan Funeral Home on 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook.
