Frances Mazzei

Frances Mazzei, 88, of Southern Boulevard, Danbury, wife of the late Patrick Mazzei, died at her residence on February 7.

She was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., December 3, 1915, daughter of the late John and Mary Czarnecka. She moved to Newtown as a child and was a graduate of Newtown High School.

Frances, a Danbury resident since 1940, was a retired employee of the Sears & Roebuck Company in Danbury, where she had worked for 44 years. She was an avid traveler and a longtime member of St Peter Church.

She is survived by two sons, David Mazzei of Waterbury and Dennis Mazzei of Danbury; two granddaughters, Kate Mazzei Chien of State College, Penn., and Carolyn Mazzei of West Hartford; two sisters, Helen Chubat of Seymour and Wanda Settergren of Stratford; her sister-in-law, Theresa Moran of Danbury. In addition to her husband and her parents, Frances was predeceased by a sister, Isabel Karcheski in 1995.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Joseph Church, Danbury, on February 11. Burial took place in St Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
